Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC)
Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) holds to and teaches the evangelical understanding of the Christian faith and the full and final authority of the Bible as the revealed Word of God, inspired by the Spirit of God. SMBC is Bible-centred, interdenominational, oriented to cross-cultural mission and community-based. SMBC degrees and diplomas are accredited with the Australian College of Theology (ACTh). In addition, SMBC offers focussed studies through its School of Cross Cultural Mission and School of Preaching. SMBC is well recognised by mission agencies with graduates working throughout Australia and overseas in cross-cultural gospel service.
SMBC was established in 1916 by a returned missionary of the China Inland Mission, Reverend C. Benson Barnett, to train students for cross-cultural service throughout Australia and overseas. A distinguishing feature of SMBC is the interdenominational character of its faculty and students.
